Nesting

This weekend we are nesting in the Extreme Home Makeover kind of way.  T is building a second bathroom in the basement (plumbing already there, we just need the room and the stuff hooked up, etc.), we had central air installed yesterday which will be a life saver this summer when it is 80F with 1000% humidity and Azure is literally stuck to my boob with sweat and dribbled milk.  I am also painting the back stairway and doing more laundry than I ever have in my life.
Why all the fuss?
She might be home next weekend!  Holy Shit!  How did this sneak up on us?  How does one become comfortable with the schedule of hospital work home hospital sleep hospital work, etc.?  We will do CPR training today.  Tuesday or Wednesday we get trained on the take home monitor.  Friday will be a sleepover at the hospital and then next weekend we expect them to boot us out.  This is a tentative schedule based on how we do, how she does, what they have going on at the NICU, etc.
Again, Holy Shit!
Better go, Home Depot is calling.

Good luck on getting the babe home! It was the same way with us...all of a sudden BAM! Your baby is going home! We were not prepared at all and had nothing ready for her. It all worked out though.

CONGRATS!

How wonderful to hear about Azure´s homecoming. I did the CPR training course last week, totally worth it.
Will you have a home health nurse assigned to Azure or is it just the monitors for you to check up on her?

We are looking forward to new updates from home with pictures, if possible! (Please)

Enjoy the weekend, the last weekend before she´s home . Yay!!!k

So happy for you! There just aren't words that express the feeling you get when the NICU tells you your baby will be home so soon. Just happy she will soon be a "NICU Graduate"!

I remember feeling the same way; that all of a sudden what I had dreamed of was happening all too fast. It is almost surreal. Our nurse had to force me to leave the hospital to go buy a car seat because we hadn't done it yet and they needed to do his car seat test. I was in that much shock and denial. But, what amazing news! Yay for the Elephant Trunk family! So so so so happy for you.
