Take a Moment for a Good Cause

I have been Pro-Choice as long as I can remember. I made up my mind the first time I learned what abortion was and what the right to choose meant and I have yet to find an argument to make me change my mind.

I have held onto my Pro-Choice notions throughout our struggles to conceive and even now when I look into my daughter's eyes and think that she was supposed to have been a second trimester miscarriage who just so happened to make it out alive.

I will passionately defend a woman's right to choose with pounding fists and tears in my eyes and choking sobs because it is just that damn important to me.

I recently took an online survey for Planned Parenthood to help them determine what it is that "We" (collective Pro-Choice supporters) want and what "We" are willing to do to help them get or keep those things that we want.

You can take the survey right now at:

Please do not take your rights for granted. They are not. We need to ask for them, expect them, demand them, fight for them.

Thank you.

When I was in college in the early 80's, I remember a time that there was so much turbulence surrounding a woman's right to choose - just like there always has been - and I was taking a literature class from a professor that made this very wise statement:

"I find it interesting that the people making all the rules about women's rights are men."

Even after all these years, I remember this. I commend you for taking a stand.

Thank you for providing the link- I took the survey and volunteered to be contacted for future participation. We definitely cannot take the current climate lightly.

I live in Portugal so I cannot do much. Things here aren't that bad yet, I don't think it would cross a pharmacist's mind to deny anyone the pill, even in a Catholic country.

I do admire your involvement at a time like this. You truly seem like an admirable woman.

Thank you.

Wow, that is amazing. I don't know how you can look into her eyes and realize that had she still been in the womb, you would have been legally allowed to kill her.

This, I'm afraid, I will never understand.

I am glad she is doing so well!

Hey Rach...
How uncalled for was that remark?

I think it's pretty compassionate, Suzanne... we all know how much this woman loves her baby...but she would still support being able to kill Azure if she were still in her womb?

It is just not logical.

I, like everyone else, am rooting for Azure. She is a strong baby, with a strong mama.

Thanks for the link. I wish you and Azure all the best in the world.

What an obnoxious comment by Rach.
