He told me so, why didn't I listen?

Warning: If you have just sucked down a Green Tea with Honey flavored zinc lozenge trying to ward off the evil eye of the flu that threatens to ruin the rest of your week, do NOT follow it up with a cherry cough syrup (purchased for better CM) chaser.
BLEHCK!

I don't think it will work anyway.  T had the flu last week.  Aches, chills, fever (I know, right before he goes in for his first SA!), stuffy head, sore throat, sinus headache, everything hurts kind of flu.  He kept telling me I would get sick, that his particular flu had a long gestation (is there a better word for that? Fermentation? Percolation?)  period before it actually made you sick.  It was inevitable he said because our receptionist at work had it the same time he did.  I was surrounded by germs.  I kept holding out hope that I would somehow, miraculously avoid it.  You know, because I seem to just miraculously avoid trouble in all other aspects of my life.

My throat was sort of scratchy on Monday, I started taking zinc lozenges to fend it off before it could take root.  Tuesday I felt better, no problem.  Yesterday awoke in the middle of the night with a sore throat, way deep down by my collar bone.  I actually fell back to sleep and dreamed that I found 5 blisters in my throat.  (I once had a blister so big that I just opened my mouth and looked in the rearview mirror of my car and I could see it without the aid of a flashlight or tongue depressor!) I took more zinc.  By 8:30am the post-nasal drip had started.  I have sneezed a few times and actually had to blow my nose after, these certainly weren't just office dust sneezes.  It doesn't look good.

I thought for sure I would be hearing a big I TOLD YOU SO when I got home, but instead he apologized for getting me sick and washed the blankets and pillows from the couch so they are ready for me when I need them.
